Privacy
Your home, your photos, your privacy.
Carlo Upholstery, Slipcovers, and Drapes Inc. — the studio behind Carlo Upholstery and Carlo Home Decor — makes custom furniture, slipcovers, drapes and window treatments for homes across South Orange County. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website or work with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Effective October 24, 2026
The short version
- We only ask for what a project actually needs.
- We never sell your information, and we don't run advertising trackers on this site.
- Your room photos and design notes stay private to you and our team.
- Ask us to correct or delete anything and we will.
What we collect
When you contact us
If you call, fax, or email us — or visit the studio — we collect whatever you choose to share: your name, phone number, email address, the address where work will be done, photos or measurements of your furniture and windows, fabric preferences, and notes about your project.
When you open a Design Studio account
The sign-up form asks for two things only: an email address and a password. We don't ask for your name, date of birth, or payment details to create an account.
When you use the Design Studio
We store the room photos you upload, the room type you select, and any notes you type, together with your account so your design ideas are saved and you can look back on them later.
Automatically
Our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs needed to deliver the website securely. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services that build a profile of you across other websites.
How we use it
- To quote your project and answer your questions.
- To source fabric and materials, and to coordinate with the makers who build your piece.
- To prepare and show design options in the Design Studio.
- To schedule pickup, delivery, and installation, and to keep your home safe while we work.
- To invoice you, keep accounting records, and honor our satisfaction guarantee and any warranty.
- To save your design history so you can revisit past ideas or start a new room.
We don't use your photos or project details for marketing without your say-so. If we'd like to feature a finished piece in our portfolio, on Instagram, on Facebook, or in a review, we ask you first — and we leave out anything you'd rather keep private.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't track which other websites you visit.
- We don't ask for, or store, credit card numbers in the Design Studio notes.
Who else may see it
- Our team — designers, seamstresses, upholsterers, and delivery staff who need it to do your work.
- Suppliers and makers — only the details needed to order fabric, foam, frames, or hardware for your piece.
- Service providers — companies that host our website and store files on our behalf, under our instructions.
- Where the law requires — if we receive a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
How long we keep it
Project correspondence, invoices, and receipts are kept as long as we need them for our books, tax records, and warranty commitments. Design Studio photos and notes are kept while your account stays open, so your design history is there when you want it. If you ask us to remove a photo, a note, or your whole account, we do — and anything we must retain by law is kept only for that purpose.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to: see what we hold about you, correct something that's wrong, send you a copy, or delete your photos, notes, and account. You can also ask us not to email you about anything other than active work on your project. Just reach us by email or phone below and tell us what you'd like. We'll confirm receipt and respond within 30 days.
California residents
If you live in California, the categories we collect are contact and identity details, project and property information, and the photos and notes you upload. We don't "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined by California privacy law, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know, delete, and correct, and we won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We don't respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because no tracking of that kind takes place on this site.
Keeping it safe
Your room photos are stored in private storage that isn't open to the public, and the website is served over an encrypted connection. Access is limited to the people on our team who need it. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your password to yourself and don't include card numbers or other sensitive financial details in project notes.
Children
Our services and website are aimed at adults managing a home project. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting an active project will be communicated directly.
